Mona Hamadeh

Mona Hamadeh was born and grew up in the Chouf Mountains in the south east of the Lebanon. She moved to England, where she met her husband and devoted her life to bringing up five children. Mona always remained passionate about Lebanon and its food however, so she continued cooking Lebanese dishes where her family grew up on this healthy tasty diet. Now they are following their mum’s example by bringing up their own kids on Lebanese food. She always enjoyed cooking for friends and family both in the UK and Lebanon, spending hours sharing a feast together.

Mona was not a chef nor even worked in any restaurants but taught many classes of Lebanese cookery for several years where she was constantly asked to write a book and share her recipes. She began her love of cooking at a very young age where she always liked to observe her mother and grandmother cooking the best, traditional Lebanese food.

Finally she decided to write Everyday Lebanese Cooking, by sharing the most traditional, authentic recipes from the rural mountains and cities along the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon.

Following the success of "Everyday Lebanese Cooking", Mona wrote two more books, "A Lebanese Feast of Vegetables, Pulses, Herbs and Spices", most recipes are suitable for vegans too. Then, followed by "The healthy Lebanese Family Cookbook". All three books remain in the bestsellers of Middle Eastern food and drinks.

Now Mona spends several months a year in Lebanon but mostly in the UK to spend time with her children and most of all to enjoy her grandchildren.
