JANE K.. SEALE

Jane Seale is currently Professor of Inclusive Education at Exeter University. Her teaching and research interests lie at the intersections between disability, technology and education. Her work focuses in particular on the role that technologies play in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and the factors that influence or sustain the digital exclusion of disabled learners. Jane has developed a national and international profile in the field through key roles such as President of the Association for Learning Technology (2006-7), Editor of the Association for Learning Technology Journal (2001-2007); Co-chair of ALT-C 2005; Co-Chair of Ed-Media 2007 and Co-Director of the National Centre for Research Methods (2007-1010).

On a lighter note, Jane loves reading science fantasy and her favourite authors are China Mieville, Tad Williams and William Horwood. Jane says she fantasises about the day she retires and can maybe try to write a novel, one millionth of the quality that these guys can. Until that happens she'll settle for writing her academic books and trying to raise awareness of the complex relationship between technologies, disabled people and the educational environments in which they learn.
