Raymond A. Young

I am Emeritus Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where for 30 yrs I taught the Chemistry of Natural Polymers and Ethnobotany. I had a research program on Cellulose Chemistry, Utilization of Natural Fibers and Plasma Surface Modification of Materials. My B.S. & M.S. degrees are from Syracuse Univ. and my Ph.D. from the Univ. of Washington-Seattle. I was a Fulbright Scholar as a student at the Royal Inst. of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and a Senior Fulbright Scholar as a Professor at the Aristotelian Univ. in Thessaloniki, Greece. I have published many original scientific papers, book chapters, patents and have edited or written 11 books. I have published several textbooks on Forest Ecology & Management and recent books include : "Polynesian and the Polynesians: An Overview," "Perfumes and Perfumery: An Overview," "A Sabbatical in Greece: Thessaloniki and Mt Athos," about the year I spent in Greece and another about my family heritage "Young Family Genealogy: From the Coal Mines & Steel Mills".
