Chrome Oxide

For many long years, Chrome Oxide tortured every writers’ group he attended by learning two bad habits for every one he fixed. Because of inadequate discouragement, he managed to write over 60 twisted science fiction and fantasy short stories.

His first break came in 2013 when the Writers of the Future contest chose him as a Published Finalist for “Cop for a Day.” He also received an Honorable Mention for “I Was A Teenage Redneck Zombie From Outer Space.” In 2017 he was published in Forbidden Thoughts, a collection of short stories created for those forgotten readers who still believe in freedom of speech. He was published alongside Larry Correia, Tom Kratman, Brad R. Torgersen, John C. Wright, and other respected authors. Five stories from his collection, 28 Minutes Into The Future, made the Tangent Online 2018 Recommended Reading List.

As a young man, Chrome received a BS in Accounting from Cal State Northridge where it took him six years to earn a four-year degree. The process made his parents very unhappy. But things looked up when he gained steady employment in CPA offices. After 20 years of bean counting, Chrome tired of living in a cubical. So, he started a small business as a computer consultant, helping people find on/off buttons and advising them that CD trays could also be used as cup holders.

With all his spare time, Chrome became a music historian, documenting the instrumental surf music scene. His live recordings of bands from around the world make up one of the largest collections in Southern California and possibly the world.

He recently finished the second draft of a twisted fantasy novel.
