Tara McFadden is a young author and a college student pursuing a degree in Animal Sciences. She is a first time author, but the Brothers of Elysium series will not be the first books she’s ever written. In 2nd and 3rd grade, her elementary school held a book writing contest known as “Young Authors Awards”. She participated in the contest and won 1st place trophies both times. She recently had a poem published in her college magazine as well, and all of this was before she took any creative writing classes.
Having an obsession for angels and the supernatural, she decided to write a fiction book series for teens and young adults. She started the book, “Kael” when she was 15, but now plans to write at a much faster pace to meet the demands of her readers. She still plans to go to school to become a farrier, someone who works with horse’s hooves (shoeing, correcting hoof problems, etc.) as well as continue her participation in a sport called “falconry”. Falconry is defined as the taking of natural quarry in their natural state by means of a trained raptor. In short, hunting with hawks and falcons instead of a gun. She is still an apprentice at the moment and hopes to trap her first “passage” (bird under one year of age and has left it’s nest) redtail hawk the winter of 2013.
