Working in national security throughout her career, Barbara traveled around the world to fabulous cities - Paris, Vienna, Geneva, London, Moscow, DC, Las Vegas, and in the countryside of Lithuania, Romania, and most recently, Mongolia. She has worked with amazing people - a dozen or so Ambassadors (Goodby, Lehman, Hamner, Joseph, ...), former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, and hundreds of some of the smartest, most creative people you'd ever meet in the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She left the field of defense and arms control behind and is now focusing on writing, and on speaking and consulting in the field of leadership and teamwork. Her works in progress include historical fiction, an international medical thriller, and a nonfiction study on principles of leadership in practice.
