David J. Ballard is chief quality officer for Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) and president of the BSWH STEEEP Global Institute, which is dedicated to helping other organizations improve health care quality and ensure the delivery of care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered (STEEEP).
Dr. Ballard is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and a graduate of the Lawrenceville School, where he has served on the board of trustees. He completed degrees in chemistry, economics, medicine and epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar. Dr. Ballard also trained in internal medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and currently serves as Health Policy section editor for Mayo Clinic Proceedings. He remains a devoted Tar Heel fan, except when the UNC men's basketball team competes against the Wildcats.
