First edition (not stated) DATED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. viii, 144 pages. Hardcover: H 23.5cm x L 15.75cm. Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel; strong rubbing to panels with creasing, short tears, small chips, and edge-nicks; toning and staining to white spine and white rear panel; front flap completely missing. Green boards; spine ends lightly bumped; vibrant gilt stamped lettering to front board and spine. Foxing/toning to text block edges and endpapers; author's four-line blue ink inscription "I certify this to be an authentic | copy of my book, First Edition. | Gene Nunnery | 12-12-80" at bottom of front free endpaper; a few foxing spots to interior leaves which are otherwise clean. Page ii features large sticker affixed atop original printed copyright statement amending publisher information to Gene Nunnery of Meridian, Mississippi (the original obscured text notes the book's publication by Portal Press of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; presumably Nunnery bought out Portal's inventory to sell the book himself which technically would make this book a second issue of the first edition). Binding is firm. A very good copy in just a fair dust jacket. Features Foreword by Jack L. Dudley and Ben Rodgers Lee as well as thirty b/w illustrations by Norman C. Miller, Jr. {HuntingShelf#5} ISBN 0916620484.…
