Maria Sobolewska is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Oxford. Since her DPhil at Oxford University she has been working on issues of race and ethnicity in British Politics. She is an expert on voting, public opinion, political participation and immigrant political integration. She believes in engaging the public in her work, and has been a consultant for various third sector organisations working to improve political participation among under-represented groups, and a specialist adviser for a House of Lords Select Committee on Electoral Registration. Aside from her academic publications she regularly publishes blogs and articles for a wider-audience.
