Angelo Vaccarella

Angelo Vaccarella, a multifaceted artist, was born in Naples on June 19, 1958. From a very young age, he demonstrated a particular aptitude for art, drawn especially to the human figure and face: an interest that has accompanied him throughout his artistic career, from figurative painting to sacred art.

An iconographer, painter, and restorer specializing in sacred art, for over forty years he has dedicated himself to the study of Christian iconography, painting, frescoes, and artistic training. His artistic and spiritual research has led him to explore the relationship between faith and beauty, tradition and contemporaneity, the sacred and the everyday.

Since 1980, he has followed the Neocatechumenal Way, an experience that has profoundly affected his life and led him to question the meaning of life and to a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. From then until 2012, he has dedicated himself to the New Evangelization through biblical catechesis for adults. For over ten years, he has also been dedicated to addressing the issues of at-risk minors in his city, leveraging his artistic experience through teaching painting and ceramics.

His works are now exhibited in numerous churches, both in Italy and abroad, and have been featured in several national and international exhibitions.

Alongside his work as an iconographer and painter, he also works as a journalist, collaborating over the years with newspapers and periodicals, initially as a satirical illustrator and then as a freelance journalist. He was also editorial director of the magazine Immagini dell’Invisibile.
