David Zachary Smith

David, born in 1960, spent the formative years of his life in two small towns named Upwey & Ferntree Gully in the state of Victoria, Australia. As an adult he has worked & travelled in all of the states throughout Australia, from inner city suburbs in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and Cairns, to the outback places such as Hermannsburg, and the Tanami Desert in The Northern Territory, plus the Queensland Gulf country and the northern tropics from Cairns to Cape Tribulation.

Whilst on a 2 year contract as a mechanic and supervisor for the Lajamanu Council (Tanami Desert) he came up with an invention for pumping fuel out of jerrycans, the Tanami Pump. It is still for sale today although he is no longer involved with that product.

He moved from inner suburban Perth to the Sunshine Coast Queensland in 2002, where good weather and house prices clinched the deal. Now middle aged and facing a mid-life crisis he was forced to create a bucket list of what life means to him and how there’s little time left to make a difference. He has had stories published about his gemstone collecting adventures over the years but like many people he has always contemplated writing a book.

When he started his working life in the 80’s he became caught up in a sadistic neighbourhood dispute between his tenant and a malicious neighbour. This tale has been recited to many of his friends over the years and they all remarked that it was such an astounding story that its definitely worth publishing. So finally in 2013 David; pen name David Zachary Smith, (a throwback to the popular character Dr. Zachary Smith from the early TV series Lost in Space) wrote his first paperback novel, Basking on Insanity Beach.

His most popular book is Secret Men's Business. Four years in the making and a documented nine year involvement with a group of men who have become an integral part of his life. This has been such a life-changing event that he was compelled to write about a fundamental law missing in the education of men in particular.

David Zachary Smith has enjoyed a love of writing from a very early age and has a fascination with the various intricacies of Humankind. He writes Thrilling Mystery stories established in Truth interweaved with an underlying Spiritual understanding. Nine books published so far.

Basking on Insanity Beach; is a Domestic Crime Thriller, based on a true story. It leaves you guessing right to the end.
