I'm George Corbett, and I was born in London's East End just in time to enjoy the war years. Leaving school with no qualifications whatsoever, I went from job to job with no idea of where I was going other than a determination to satisfy a lifelong desire to become a scientist. The trouble with that; there aren't too many uneducated scientists dotted around, so something had to be done if I was to fulfil my dream. The answer came by way of a sudden burst of inspiration...I signed a four-year deal as a flight engineer in the Royal Air Force. This wanton act turned my life around, the RAF helping me on the road to a decent education. Cutting a very long story short, I went on to achieve a Masters in physics...my dream fulfilled. Quite apart from all that however, I harboured a hidden ambition to pen a novel...as a change from the dull technical stuff demanded by my profession.
That's me...not a lot else to say. Except that, having published 'To the Devil a Serpent' I don't intend to stop there.
