Lawrence Burns

As Hitler’s bombs rained down, the author seemed destined to be a survivor. Now he looks at extreme sports in awe! Just a minute, how more extreme can you get than dodging bullets, bombs and doodlebugs?

Lawrence lived on several continents and in many cities including London, Brisbane, Perth, Moscow, New Delhi, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He also traveled in the USA, Ireland, Norway, Germany, France, Baleric Islands, Malta, Japan, Philippines, Borneo, Brunei, Malaysia, and the Solomon Islands.

Experiencing divine protection from the destructive elements of nature, wars and terrorism, his life feels charmed. His life story would fill books of substantial size. Chapters could cover his experiences in jungle warfare using Sterling sub machine guns, being on riot squads during Malaysia’s independence struggle, and being fired on by Indonesian gunboats in the waters around Brunei.

In the Solomon Islands on client business, moving around was a dangerous affair, parts of the islands contained unexploded artillery from World War 2 and amputees were high profile. Inter island travel was hazardous, as canoes were only inches above the water line and easily swamped. Here he experienced his first close quarters sea floor earthquake.

On another country’s roads, the author was a passenger in a car which hit the kerb, became airborne, barrel rolled three times and landed on all four wheels. Driver and passenger escaped without a scratch. The sub chassis was pushed nine inches backwards however, and the wheel looked like a circular saw blade.

What does the author wishes to share? The answer is that he is a survivor. In this book he shares some of his strategies to achieve a happy, more stress free financial lifestyle. He does not profess to be a financial expert. What is offered here is guidance based on good old fashioned common sense. You can be a survivor too, a financial survivor. Just remember, if you never aim for a target, you will certainly never hit one.
