Dympna Pearson

Dympna is a Registered Dietitian with extensive experience of working in a range of clinical settings and training healthcare professionals. Her particular interest is in lifestyle change in relation to weight management, diabetes, coronary heart disease and irritable bowel.

Dympna’s experience includes working in acute and primary care settings with responsibility for developing services. This involved improving clinical services for patients as well as delivering training on nutrition and lifestyle change to multi-disciplinary teams.

Dympna’s interest in obesity management is reflected in her work for ‘Dietitians working in Obesity management UK’ (DOM UK), the obesity specialist group of the British Dietetic Association and the National Obesity Forum. She has undertaken the Certificate in Obesity Management run by The Association for the Study of Obesity and has also completed the American Certificate in Obesity Management. Dympna has written many articles on the topic for medical and nursing journals and is co-author of the CD ROM ‘Obesity Management in Primary Care’ produced by the National Obesity Form.
