L. Broas Mann Jr.

L. Broas Mann is a great-grandson of Levi Broas.

He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and obtained Mechanical Engineering degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology and Northwestern University. He was an instructor in that field at Lawrence Institute of Technology, after which he enjoyed a fifty year career as a Research Engineer and Consultant with Chrysler Corporation.

Broas and his wife Marion have four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his primary interest is centered on their family. He also enjoys writing and genealogy. From many years of research and several visits to the town of Belding, Michigan, much of the Broas family history was documented. It is this background that prompted his desire to write “Levi’s Journal,” a fictional account of the family’s journey from New York to Michigan
