Beth Tuttle

Beth Tuttle is President and CEO of the Cultural Data Project (CDP). Beth's work at the CDP, which strengthens the national arts and cultural sector through the collection and reporting of reliable, standardized organizational and financial data, builds on her commitment to creating high-performance organizations that deliver significant public benefit.

Prior to her appointment at CDP, Beth founded and served as managing director of METStrategies, LLC, a strategic communications and management consulting firm where she was a leadership advisor, organizational, and brand strategist for the cultural, philanthropic, advocacy, and corporate sectors. Beth served as Deputy Director and Chief of External Relations and Planning for the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and as Senior Vice President for Communications for 1he Freedom Forum and Newseum. She combines expertise in organizational planning and communications with experience in fundraising and philanthropy, having also held key advancement positions in nonprofit advocacy and the foundation sector for more than a decade.

In the private sector, Beth honed her skills in advertising, brand marketing, and consumer research with leading. New York and Washington, DC, consumer advertising agencies. She also has advised corporate leaders in strategic and crisis communications. A graduate of Brown University, Beth is a frequent guest lecturer, speaker, and presenter.

She was a 2010-12 Visiting Practitioner at the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management at Georgetown University, where she and Anne Bergeron developed their Magnetic Museums research. She is member of the American Alliance of Museums, Americans for the Arts, and The Museum Group. Beth resides in Philadelphia and Alexandria, Va.
