Dorothy Larco was born in Germany and came to the United States as a small child. Since retiring from her career of teaching foreign languages in Portland, Oregon she has been enjoying life with winters in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and replacing work with writing. With her husband she has been taking the occasional cruise, and she has used the experiences exploring various parts of the world as inspiration for novels--so far three of them on Amazon. Each of these novels has a love story that starts on a cruise, but besides romance and travel the novels are about personal growth, a woman becoming stronger and realizing her dreams. "Becoming Cecily" is about recovering from codependency, "Fresh Horizons" is about growing out of the confines of a "good" first marriage, and "Scheherazade" is about overcoming romance addiction. - She has always written poetry, and probably the best of it is in a self-published book of love poems, also on Amazon. - Besides romance, travel, and personal growth she is also keenly interested in current events and writes the occasional essay.
