Gary Carr

Gary Carr is the son of a contractor. He describes himself as a professional vagabond. He learned construction from his father, but also trained as a chef and used that skill to help pay his way through school. He retained his love of food and cooking, but moved on to work in radio as an announcer and disc jockey, and in television as a newsman. He ultimately retired after 30 years as a school administrator. Though he has many interests, traveling has always been a passion that tops the list. It began as a youth roaming the Southwest and traveling across the U.S.A. Eventually his journeys included Europe, the South Pacific, Polynesia, Hawaiian Islands, Caribbean and South America. Gary lives in Colorado with his wife Shirley to whom he has been married for 45 years. Gary continues to pursue his travel and writing.
