Ettore Accenti is an experienced electrical engineer with over 50 years of experience in the technology industry. He was born in Milan, Italy and grew up during a period of great technological changes.
From a young age, Ettore was fascinated by electronics and spent much of his free time experimenting with radios and other devices.
After completing his secondary education, Ettore enrolled in the Polytechnic di Milano to study electrical engineering. It was here that he founded Eledra 3S, a technology distribution company, shortly before graduating.
During his studies, he published 63 articles on technical topics and in 1969, he published his first book "From transistors to integrated circuits," which is still available for sale today. That same year, he began his collaboration with the newly formed Intel and visited the company the following year where he met the founders, Dr. Noyce, and Dr. Moore.
This early entrepreneurial experience would prove invaluable later in his career and allowed him to establish relationships with important companies in the industry, including Apple Computer, IBM, HP, Philips, AMD, National Semiconductor, RCA, SGS (now ST Microelectronics), Commodore, Samsung, Goldstar (now LG), Amstrad, and several other minor companies.
Having begun his technological journey with semiconductors and the Silicon Valley at a young age, he witnessed the advent of integrated circuits and the explosion of microprocessors and had the privilege of working with some of the most important pioneers of Silicon Valley such as Robert Noyce, Gordon Moore, Steve Jobs, Mike Markkula, Federico Faggin, Bill Davidow, and others who are now well-known startups turned into big companies.
As a frequent business traveler in the 1980s, he was able to witness firsthand the expansion of electronics in the East, visiting Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
During this period, he was also able to witness some of the most significant technological advancements of the 20th century, from the birth of the microchip to the emergence of personal computers, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing, and published informative articles on these subjects.
With four children and ten grandchildren spread across three nations, now retired, Ettore resides in Switzerland where he continues his passion for writing articles and books to explain science and technology in a way that is accessible to everyone, including difficult topics, as well as making some brief presentations at the local university.
Ettore's vast knowledge and experience make him a valuable resource for anyone looking to understand and navigate the complex world of technology. He is a respected expert in his field and has been recognized for his contributions by numerous organizations and institutions.
