Julie Carr embarked on her literary journey right after welcoming her son into the world. While pregnant, she delved into numerous books detailing the physical changes in a woman's body, but what captivated her most was the development of the unborn child. Determined to focus more on the miracle of life rather than the challenges, she conceived the groundbreaking daily calendar 'Countdown to a Miracle: The Making of Me,' narrated uniquely from the baby's perspective. Initially self-published, the book's success led to a rights acquisition by a publisher in 2006. Now titled 'Countdown to My Birth,' this calendar has garnered prestigious awards and even boasts a Dutch version available in The Netherlands.

Fueling her creativity once more during her second pregnancy, Julie wrote 'Making Me: The Pregnancy Activity Book for My Big Brother or Sister.' This imaginative work was born out of the need to help older siblings connect with and understand the arrival of a new family member. The book achieved acclaim, securing the Top Choice Award in 2013 and the Book of the Year Award from Creative Child Magazine in 2015 and 2020.

Endorsed by pediatricians and child psychologists, 'Making Me' provides a delightful way for older siblings to bond with their new baby.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, Julie spends her time running her business, and windsurfing, kayaking, and skiing as much as possible.
