Kathy Johncox

Kathy Johncox, an army Brat born in Missouri to a military family, has developed story ideas and written stories in eight states and three foreign countries. She has published short stories in regional literary magazines and in online publications, and is a writer at a university where she creates marketing communications and feature stories for the college's many publications. Her debut short story collection, "The Last Generation of Women Who Cook," contains 16 stories about food that satisfy the hunger for a good story. A member of an active writer's group, she is at work on more women's fiction: a chick lit novel starring a journalist and a dwarf, and a domestic drama novel that involves, baseball, religion, teenagers, infidelity and possibly a few hamburgers. She is more than a little Norwegian which explains her passion for all things potato and for white creamy sauces, and a tiny bit German which explains really nothing.
