Martin Gilbert

Once a native of Leeds, Martin Gilbert assumed civilised roles during National Service and Oxford University, thereafter pursuing a respectable career in region-related developments.

'Bewilderment' is Gilbert's first essay in fiction after decades of writing meeting reports. Through the creation of the character Sadie he has found an eloquent outlet for his lifelong fascination with Franglais and other manifestations of Anglo-French rivalry.
