I began wandering down country roads when my family moved to the countryside of upstate New York when I was 13. A few miles soon turned into walks of 12-25 miles. A decade later, in Seattle, I began to hunger for longer walks, wondering what it would be like to have my supplies on my back and walk day after day. I have since walked the Oregon Coast Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Arizona Trail, England's Southwest Coast Path, Corsica's GR20, the Pyrenean High Route, Morocco's Atlas Mountains, British Columbia's Trans-Canada Trail, the Continental Divide Trail from New Mexico's boot heel to the heart of the Colorado Rockies, and Britain End-to-End.

In 2005, I fell in love with the Colorado Rockies and had the privilege of calling the Roaring Fork Valley home. The area around Glenwood Springs remains one of my top places to go roaming and I hope that you will enjoy Walk! Glenwood Springs Town and Hills as much as I enjoyed writing it.

In 2012, continuing to explore self-propelled transportation, I left Colorado on bicycle with my dog, Runaway, in the front basket, and pedaled back to Seattle, where I now live.
