Lori Eanes

Lori Eanes is an award-winning San Francisco based food and people photographer who has spent the last twenty years photographing food and people for publications like the Wall Street Journal, Sierra Magazine, Organic Style, and others. She began the "Backyard Roots" book as a personal photo project. After meeting and talking to urban farmers she was inspired to write about them too. Backyard Roots won the Nautilus 2014 Gold Award in the Green Living/Sustainability category.

"Everyone I talked to was passionate about growing food and they all had different motivations. For some it was as simple as a way to eat healthier, for others it grew to be a way to challenge laws or even start a business." From rooftop gardens, to aquaponics, mushroom growing or urban foraging, "Backyard Roots" has something to motivate everyone who loves to eat.
