Romulo Romeo Lynch-Solano
John Paul Lennon was born in Dublin several decades ago. And, No! I have nothing to do with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Mention this to me with gleaming celebrity loving eyes and I am tempted to cut you short or give you a really long lecture about why I don't think this is very amusing...If you were Irish born like me you might not make such a big deal of the Beatles and their names.
The good thing about being old is that one has a lot of life and experiences behind them. I have lived in Spain, Italy, and Mexico for periods of time and feel a connection to people from those countries. I consider the USA where I have lived since 1985 my "third culture" (Mexico being my second).
And to get this out of the way and satisfy your prurient curiosity, I was a Catholic priest for 19 years. I tried to integrate that experience into my life as I moved into the counseling profession in the Washington DC area.
I cannot deny that my 23 years with the controversial order, the Legion of Christ, and with their even more controversial founder, Fr. Marcial Maciel, made an impact. In order to "process" that and tell my part of the truth I wrote "Our Father Maciel who art in bed, a naive and sentimental Dubliner in the Legion of Christ", publishing it with createspace in 2007. I have published a couple of editions of this, my autobiography, including ""Deceit and Lies in the Legion of Christ". I followed this up with "Fr. Marcial Maciel pedophile, psychopath and Legion of Christ Founder" about ten years ago. So you can see how I love these guys! I rounded off my Legion of Christ Trilogy with "Bene Factress of the Legion of Christ" where I give full rein to my Irish sense of satire in the role of a pious American woman who supports this "work of God" and "loves the holy priests"!
I like to write and also published a couple of booklets in Spanish: "Viaje hacia la Pascua"(Spiritual reflections for Lent) and "Un Cura Lucha con Dios" (Devotional Poems from mi time as a Missionary in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico)
Of course, I like to translate. Though people don't realize what a laborious task that is.
My latest books include: ?Por qué me hice Legionario de Cristo: Lo Bueno, lo Malo y lo Bello" and "Catholic Orders & Movements Accused of being Cult-like: Intra-ecclesial Sects?
But new adventures await me...
