Barry A. Wade

Barry A. Wade, PhD, OD, JP, is a noted environmental scientist and consultant. In 2000, he took time off from his professional practice to work with marginalized men and women in poverty ridden areas of Kingston, Jamaica through his church's HELP Ministry (Healing and Empowerment with Love and Prayer). He retired as Director of the ministry after ten years but continues to serve as a Deacon of Mona Baptist Church. Dr Wade is an Honorary Fellow of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology.

Dr Wade has been married to his wife, Merle, for 46 years and they have two children and three grandchildren. They make their home in Kingston but have enjoyed visiting Ghana and South Africa on several occasions to spend time with their daughter and her family.
