Julie Collins Floristry BTec ND, ICSF, Cert Ed, City & Guilds MDPF (English Master), is one half owner of the successful Academy of Floral Art Floristry School based in Devon, England.
Julie started her career in the Bank but found there was a limit to how creative you could be with a bag of coins, so in 1994 she undertook her training to be a Florist, which lead her to become a Floristry teacher for a college for twelve years, whilst also running a successful wedding flower business and working with her mum and sister in their Florist shop.
In 2009 she set up her own Floristry school the Academy of Floral Art with her business partner Tina Parkes and she recently completed her Master Diploma in Professional Floristry and is proud to have been awarded the British Floristry Association top graduate in both practical and theory, which is a rare achievement.
She has a passion for sharing her knowledge and skills in floral design with her students and now a wider audience with her new book co- written with Tina Parkes. It has always been her dream to create a recipe styled floristry book that anyone could use and learn how to arrange flowers at home and she hopes you will enjoy making the design in the book.
