Patty Latham DVM

Patty Latham, DVM, is the author of the Dr. Josie Tate series set in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, as well as a memoir, Napa Valley Vets, the Balance of Lives, and more than twenty articles and case studies in EQUUS magazine.

Dr. Latham has been a veterinarian for over fifty years and a rider and trainer of horses for longer than that. She lives with her husband and partner, Jim Latham, DVM, on a rural ranch south of Pagosa Springs, with two rehomed dogs, two adopted cats, two mustangs, and a Quarter Horse. They are visited by elk, deer, rabbits, weasels, wild turkeys, and an occasional bear, bobcat, badger, and rarely, a mountain lion, all amid the music of the pines.
