“I am born.” Charles Dickens, DAVID COPPERFIELD.

Do not fear, unlike Dickens, I shall skip to the chase.

I presently live in Indiana. As a Cardiovascular Surgical nurse, the operating rooms were my home for many years, during which I had the opportunity to work with some great surgeons, and some real bastards. All the rich experiences are great fodder for stories and novels.

I am a graduate of Indiana University's School of Nursing, and worked in a hospital in Indianapolis until the army moved my husband and I to El Paso, Texas. I had to adapt to a dry, desert area after living my whole life in Indianapolis. Talk about culture shock! First thing to know is that the majority of Texans still believe that they live in an independent republic. The stories of "Texas pride" are not exaggerated.

In a very short period of time I, too, was in love with the Lone Star state and was sad to leave when my husband received a Cardiology practice offer from a group back in Indianapolis. It was here we settled down to rear our family. I took a hiatus from nursing to be wife and mother. I officially retired in 1996. In the mean time I continued a life-long study of the American Civil War. My deep interest initiated by stories of my great-grandfather who served in the 3rd Indiana cavalry in the Union Army.

For our 25th wedding anniversary, we traveled to Ireland where I came face to face with my strong genetic connection to Celts. More research and study followed, this time focusing on genealogy, especially mine, all grist for new stories. Every place I have visited is filed away for future use, whether it is Indianapolis, New Orleans, Texas, or many Civil War battlefields.

My love for writing, and it is a deep love, began in a Comp class in high school. I found that by simply allowing my imagination the freedom to travel where it would, I could see things and do things impossible in this realm we call reality. Writing allows me to entertain using words and their magical properties.

So here I am, asking you to come on journeys with me. Some will be funny, some tragic, some frightening, and some enlightening, but all will be entertaining and fun!

Read my books and enjoy the ride.
