Mary J Howell was born and brought up in Lower Penn, Wolverhampton. She has lived in Manchester, Liverpool, London, Cardiff and Avila in Spain. She now lives in Snowdonia National Park: a good place to be, a good place to walk and a good place to write. She graduated from Bangor University with an MA in Creative writing in 2009
