William M. Gould

William M Gould grew up in New York, and has practiced medicine in Northern California for many years. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale's School of Medicine, he also completed the MA program in creative writing at San Francisco State University.

When he tells people he's a creature of habit with a short attention span it's only partly being a wise guy. Besides medicine, and what he calls "messing around with words", he plays piano in a jazz band, and also carries on a long love affair with Italy.

Somehow, it all manages to rub off in these novels and short stories.
