Loui McCurley

Loui McCurley lives in Colorado with her husband Bob.

As a certified Rope Access Technician and Technical Rescue Specialist, Loui has faced unique fall protection challenges in a range of unique environments ranging from wilderness to general industry, towers, turbines, agriculture, entertainment, and more. A Founder and Past President of the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians, Loui also works with standards-setting organizations including ANSI Z359, NFPA, ASTM, ISO, FEMA/NIMS, Cordage Institute, and others.

Loui’s technical rescue career began as a member of Alpine Rescue Team in Colorado, and has spanned over 30 years to her present day role as CEO of a major life safety rope and equipment manufacturer.

Loui is committed to making safety at height an accessible reality in every workplace. She is a frequent presenter and instructor whose book titles include "Falls from Height: A Guide to Rescue Planning" (Wiley) and "Professional Rope Access: A Guide to Working Safely at Height" (Wiley). She presently serves as CEO of Pigeon Mountain Industries and is committed to making principles of safety in work at height achievable in every workplace.
