John Baselmans

John Baselmans (Aalst, 20 May 1954) is a Dutch artist, writer, sculptor, graphic designer, and illustrator.

He has been living in Curaçao since 1982. Since 1984, Baselmans has designed postage stamps for the postal service of the Netherlands Antilles and has contributed as an illustrator to various schoolbooks. For his pen drawings, he uses a combination of pen and Indian ink, colored pencil, and soft pastel.

Baselmans has exhibited in several countries and has also published various e-books.

John Baselmans began drawing at the age of three. From his father, he learned woodcarving, working with clay, painting, and other techniques that he has continued to practice throughout his life. He studied at the Graphic School and the Free Art Academy in Eindhoven and completed courses in airbrush and architectural rendering in the United States.

Since 2017, his publications have expressed support for conspiracy theories and pseudohistory, including the claim that the antisemitic text The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is based on authentic sources.
