She is also the founder and CEO of a small research firm, Supply Chain Insights. In this role, she leads the research efforts and editorial calendar. The group publishes 40 reports a year from 35 research studies. In 2015, the group introduced two new concepts to the market--the Supply Chain Index as a way to gauge supply chain improvement and the Supply Chains to Admire methodology to judge supply chain excellence. Her research is designed for the early adopter seeking first mover advantage.
Lora has more than 30 years of diverse supply chain experience, and spent 9 years as an industry analyst with Gartner Group, AMR Research, and Altimeter Group. Prior to becoming a supply chain analyst she spent 15 years as a leader in the building of supply chain software at Manugistics and Descartes Systems Group, and several years as a supply chain practitioner at Procter & Gamble, Kraft/General Foods, Clorox, and Dreyers Grand Ice Cream (now a division of Nestle). She is working on her DBA from Temple, and has a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and two BS degrees (Chemical Engineering and Home Economics) from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
When not busy writing and traveling the world, Lora is an avid quilter, knitter and textile enthusiast. She is busy training for an Olympic Triathlon and in search of the perfect arabesque in her ballet classes. Her favorite times are hugging her grandson and gardening on her farm in West Virginia.
