ML Nichols

ML NICHOLS is an author, consultant, speaker, and founder of The Parent Connection, a non-profit parent education group serving families in the Boston area. A mother of two teenagers and a parent leader in her own school district, she has worked with teachers, administrators, and parents on education issues for 15 years. She was also chosen by Parenting magazine as the 2012 Massachusetts delegate for Mom Congress on Education and Learning.

Navigating school systems, knowing when to get involved and what to say to teachers is often difficult and time consuming. ML wrote The Parent Backpack for Kindergarten through Grade 5 (and launched the website www.theparentbackpack.com) to share the perspectives and insights she's gained on schools, teaching, and learning - so you don't have to struggle to figure it out yourself. Or feel like you're starting over when the next child has completely different needs. ML helps you recognize your child's learning style and temperament and answers questions asked by parents every day: Should we talk to the teacher about this? Why isn't Jamie reading yet? What can we do to boost Taylor's confidence? How do we get the "good" teachers?

ML's passion for creating connections between families and schools makes The Parent Backpack a must-have resource for parents, grandparents, and teachers.
