Cara Jan Hamill

Cara Jan Hamill, born in Fort Worth, Texas, was the 1983 Mrs. New Orleans titleholder. After the win, she received a personal letter from President Ronald Reagan, congratulating her on the win in spite of her severe hearing loss. He had just started wearing hearing aids himself. The Times Picayune did a detailed article on Cara Jan, and it wound up on the desk of the President of the United States.
