Rafael Cansinos Assens

Rafael Cansinos Assens (Seville, 1882 - Madrid, 1964) was a writer, poet, novelist, essayist, literary critic, hebraist and Spanish translator. He first militated in Modernism and later became the protagonist of the Spanish avant-garde, leading Ultraismo. After the Spanish Civil War he fell into oblivion, later recovering his figure thanks to the continuous memory of Jorge Luis Borges, who always declared himself his disciple. In 1985 his memoirs, "La novela de un literato" were published with great editorial success. The Fundación Archivo Rafael Cansinos Assens, which manages his copyright (©) worldwide, is publishing all his work and his famous translations in the Arca Ediciones publishing house.
