James McAllen

Born and raised in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, James tried his hand at being a baseball player, Rock Star, Shakespearean actor, and masked superhero before finally turning to writing.

His first screenplay, Three of a Kind, was a semifinalist in the 2004 Project Greenlight contest.

His first published collection of short stories, Split Rock Road, was named a winner of the 2014 IndieReader Discovery Award.

His first novel, Pretentious, was released in July 2016.
