David McWhinnie

Born 1962 in a small coal mining town on the outskirts of Glasgow, David McWhinnie took a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. His passion for writing came from his love of film and book, particularly the works of JRR Tolkien and Bernard Cornwell.

Taking a confident but giant leap, he put pen to paper in the Spring of 2010 and produced an epic contemporary and historical fantasy called 'The Knowledge: The Children' - the first book of a trilogy. Based in Scotland and France from 16th century to present day, The Knowledge is full of intrigue, suspense, horror, fantasy; with narrative portraying a 'fly on the wall' experience. This is an ongoing project. This is written in such a way as to feel the world has truly ended and that there was no-one alive to review his tale.

David's second book; a series of novellas 'Madeline : The Whore of Paris' was born out of the seeds of his imagination while writing The Knowledge. Basing his characters in 18th century France, his keen eye for historical detail and his refreshingly different style of writing has successfully and so vividly brought to life a past world.

At the moment there are ten installments available on paperback and kindle and David is working on book 11 now.

David currently lives in Fife, Scotland.
