Bryan Berkeley

Bryan is also the creator of The Youth Leadership Empowerment SystemTM (YLES) book and self study training program for youths. Bryan originally started working on the YLES system when he was 18. The book combined experiences from his military training along with his personal observations about leadership in school and in the military.

His system is meant to cater to young people and new army recruits because it is for young people written by a young person. Parents and other adults try to understand what youth are going through but the reality is that they are still very much disconnected from the youth closest to them. This is especially the case with At-risk or high risk youth.

In 2011, for Remembrance Day, Bryan and some soldiers gave a speech and demonstration at his elementary school. A young man, now a senior at the school, called out afterwards, "general, is that you?" Bryan was able to correct the young man about military ranks until Bryan looked a him and realized that it was his "little brother" from the school program. They hugged and caught up and now Bryan's young brother hopes to join the armed forces one day when he is older.

Bryan has also helped his peers along the way as well. He's given a workshop on leadership in Brooklin Ontario, and has continued to influence others in his local community to strive for a better life.

Bryan has already saved 2 people from death. One person was drowning in a freezing cold lake, and the other was choking on a McDonald's burger at 2 am. He's stopped people from verbally abusing civilian women as she stood up for them. And he has done so much more that it would fill a book. More amazingly is that he accomplished all this before the age of 20.

Bryan is too humble to talk about the positive way he has touched the lives of others but this page is to help you know the kind, humble, and caring person Bryan is and continues to be.
