Hey, thanks for clicking on my bio. I’ve never been one for tooting my own horn, but it appears launching into the author and book publishing arena requires some validation of your bona fêtes. So, here is a snapshot of my endeavors over the last 50 years. From an overall perspective, I consider family, friends and this spiritual journey we have embarked upon, to be the most significant elements of our lives. In relation to my family, my wife Delane (Tender Heart) and I have shared this path for over 50 years, and we are blessed to have two children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. ‘Celebrating our family’ remains one of the top priorities of our lives. Over the years we have also shared our lives, as many of you have, with dogs, cats and other creatures, each one taught us a lot about unselfishly giving to others. The lessons learned from these experiences have shown us how the One Who Made All has a purpose and plan for every creature, this realization led us to pen The Legend of the Dog. An example of this was, Buster Brown, a gift from our daughter, with whom we quickly formed a special bond. Once arriving in our home, his unique personality and quirky ways captured our hearts, he began weaving his life into ours like a fine silk thread until we became an inseparable pack. This was also true for Smitty, he was our daughter’s dog, who remained a part of our pack after she married. We now share four dogs and a cat with our kids, or should I say, we have grand-dogs….
We believe our spiritual journey is inexorably interwoven with the life of our packs. This includes friends, creatures of all sorts, and the events and seasons of our lives. Our journey has taken us around the world to many continents and to many different peoples, speaking and teaching at conferences, seminars and churches. We continue on this journey, seeking the One Who Made All and allowing Him to direct our path.
Here is a synopsis of my life experiences that have culminated in this wonderful book of which I know will impact your life.
My first work experience began at 16 when I crawled under houses and strung wires as a plumber/electrician helper for my uncle. At 18, I enlisted in the Air Force and for many exciting years Delane and I traveled extensively, attended many College classes and experienced the birth of two wonderful children, one on the east coast and the other on the west. We retired after 22 life changing years in the USAF, during which time I accumulated several college degrees, eventually launching into the civilian defense industry.
To allow more freedom in achieving life’s goals, in 1989 we formed Worsham Associates Inc. a consulting company supporting business development. WAI supported recognized companies such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrup Grumman and BAE Systems. Today, I remain actively engaged in business consulting with defense and commercial corporations in the areas of strategic planning, business development and proposal writing.
Over the years I have earned my livelihood thru technical and business writing; however, this is my first attempt at fiction. The process of writing is not new to me, just the subject matter; however, the transition has been rather challenging at times, yet very satisfying and rewarding. Having worked in marketing for many years, my business associates would say I was already an accomplished fiction writer.
My formal education includes a BS in Economics and Business, a Master’s in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Business Administration.
