It is with heavy hearts and deepest regrets that we must relay the passing of Jim Woods, 10/08/2012.Jim Woods has left an insurmountable mark on this world. An amazing story teller, husband and role model were a microscopic portion of the man's genius. Jim will be missed by all that knew him. It is with great chagrin that our family as well as his extended literary family must move forward despite the loss of a genuinely caring soul. The next time you start to make a typo, yet feel that invisible force that pushes your hands towards the correct letters instead, smile. Jim is.
Jim Woods has published some four hundred articles in national magazines, contributed to various fact and fiction anthologies, and is the author of twenty, and co-author of three, print and e-books with treatments ranging from writing tutorial to fictional political assassination. He's a current world traveler, having set foot in more than six-dozen countries on six continents. He also is a former Editor, Managing Editor and Editorial Director with (then) Petersen Publishing Company of Beverly Hills--Guns & Ammo and Petersen's Hunting magazines; and Senior Field Editor with (then) Publishers Development Corporation, San Diego--Guns and Shooting Industry magazines. He's a former big-game hunter and has written extensively on African safari, both the hunting and camera varieties. His experiences in Africa lend expertise to his novels--three published--that are set in South Africa. He also writes under the pen name of Jamel Dubois. He lives and writes in Tucson, Arizona.
