I have always enjoyed the Crime & Mystery genre, and in particular the literature of Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Colin Dexter, Martha Grimes, Reginald Hill, Elizabeth George and Ellis Peters. My own Christian fiction works come from a natural mix of Christian faith, experience, prayerful inspiration and literary influences.
I once told my son, "When I find an author whose works I like I will read almost everything the author has written...at least what I can get my hands on." I feel in this way I get a better sense of the author and can see the progression of his/her work. When I write, however, I do not read other peoples books. I need to focus and am not able to multitask as I once did. It takes me about a year to complete a novel from idea to publication.
I thoroughly enjoyed and retired from a career in healthcare during which I put down roots in Northern and Southern CA and Ashland, OR. I've been a Christian for many years, a pianist, composer and now an author. I spend time visiting with family and friends and in church and community work.
