Mathias Jansson

Mathias Jansson (b. 1972) is a Swedish art critic, poet, and writer, and a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). His work explores the intersection of contemporary art, literature, and emerging technologies, with a particular focus on new media art, game art, AI, and digital culture.

Alongside his critical writing, Jansson is an active literary author whose poetry, essays, and fiction have appeared in magazines, anthologies, and cultural journals in both Swedish and English. His literary work ranges from experimental poetry and horror-influenced writing to metafiction and drama with absurdist elements.

He is also known for the ongoing literary project Di Ångermanländska, a series inspired by folklore, literary history, and fictional authors rooted in the landscapes and storytelling traditions of northern Sweden.
