I've had a lifelong love for puzzles, riddles, brainteasers, recreational math, and games.

Growing up, my dad enjoyed asking me trick questions – usually a riddle or a cutesy limerick he made up. This was fun, but things went to the next level when he brought home a game called "Mind Trap", a wonderful yet underrated game that's now out of print.

Mind Trap is a board game about answering brainteasers to advance along the game's path. We never played the game the way you were meant to play it, we just sat down at night on the couch going through the cards between episodes of The X-Files. The questions mix wordplay, logic, recreational math, and sometimes (my favorite) problem-solving of a Sherlock Holmes-esque nature.

My books are meant to recreate that environment I grew up in and hopefully produce those same kinds of nights for kids and adults.

Thinking and problem-solving should be a fun, welcoming challenge – not something that people grow up dreading and avoiding!
