Elle Knowles

After living most of her life in Louisiana, Elle Knowles now resides in the Florida Panhandle with her husband, Harry. There are four grown daughters, one son, and twelve beautiful grandchildren in their lives.

In 1959, at the age of four, Elle homesteaded in the Alaska wilderness for five years with her parents and four siblings. From this adventure came the inspiration for her nonfiction book, 'Coffee-Drunk or Blind', published in 2016. This story is based on her own memories, and her mother’s journals and letters written at that time to family members in Louisiana. Her first fiction novel, 'Crossing The Line', was published in 2013.

When Elle takes a seldom break from her writing, she is usually creating at her sewing machine – her first love – or working on one of the never-ending DIY projects with her husband restoring and remodeling their 1956 small home.

As an avid reader and writer, you can find Elle frequently posting stories on her blog, 'Finding Myself Through Writing', at http://knowleselle.wordpress.com. She also shares regularly, tips on marketing, promoting, and social media content, along with author and self-publishing advice, on twitter @knowleselle.
