Gail Downey Middleton

Mrs Middleton (Gail Downey Middleton) lives in and writes about Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight.

She is also a Knitwear Designer and has published 'Weardowney Knit Couture' in 2007.

Her first book in a series about the fascinating Mid-Victorian Freshwater Circle entitled 'The Freshwater Circle and what Lewis Carroll found there' was published in July 2013, to accompany an Exhibition at Dimbolas Museum and Galleries.

The book uncovers her own research on Lewis Carroll, and the time he spent at Freshwater. Middleton's discoveries have unmasked the real-life characters who Carroll based his Grotesque cariacatures upon in 'Through the Looking Glass' .

She is currently working upon the second in the series, due to be published in Autumn 2013, entitled 'GiGi and the Cat'.
