Mike Paull

In the year 2000, Mike Paull retired from the practice of dentistry in the San Francisco Bay Area and began honing his skills as a writer. Between 2010 and 2015 he published Tales from the Sky Kitchen Café, a book of aviation-based short stories and a three-volume mystery series: Flight of Betrayal, Flight of Deception and Flight of no Return.

Beginning in 2021, Mike partnered with Wings ePress, an independent U.S. publisher. Over the next three years they released his spy thriller series: Missing, She’s Missing and Missing in the Maldives.

In 2024, Mike introduced The Mouth Mechanic, a forensic crime novel. He called on his dental background to create the character of Rick Rose, a young dentist who after losing his license, ends up in the San Francisco morgue solving the mystery of a man whose body rolled out of a restaurant dumpster.

The Head Case is Book II in the Rick Rose series. It follows the protagonist through a wild adventure as he scrambles to identify and find the story behind a disembodied head that has washed ashore on a San Francisco beach.

Mike’s newest book is The Jumper. In Book III, Rick solves the mystery of an unidentified man who, after being shot in the chest, jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge.

Mike and his wife Bev now live near family in Chico CA, two hundred miles north of San Francisco.
