Elizabeth Kott

Elizabeth Kott was born in Michigan, Ann Arbor USA in 1948. After 6 months her parents returned to South Africa after her father had become Dr. of Dental Surgery. They lived in Pretoria and she was 6 years and then moved to Stellenbosch, in the Cape Province.

This is where her book starts. Her very vivid childhood memories of the journey to the Cape are described in her book in beautiful landscape descriptions.

At the age of 11 her parents moved once again to Sweden, where they lived in a large concrete flat building. The loss of their farm and all the problems and difficulties of living in a foreign country, without speaking the language, was very frustrating and traumatic for her. Writing her book was a way of getting over the heart ague.

Her vita brings her to Holland, where she had to learn Dutch and after her Matriculation to Antwerp in Belgium, where she studied to Spanish and French.

Once more back in South Africa, she worked in a bank and then became model for a Fashion Agency.

She returned to Holland to work as stewardess for KLM and during this time she met her husband in Greece. They were very happily married for 35 years until he suddenly died at the age of 62.

Now she lives a quite and contented life with her partner and 2 cats and has more than enough time for her hobbies: reading, writing, painting and playing the guitar.
