Christine (CV) Williams www.ssoa.com.au/ http://ssoa.com.au/poetry-at-petersham/
Most recent book is a collection of short stories called 'a grain of truth a pinch of salt', published under the author name C V Williams.
My interest in writing was fixed for life when, at the age of eleven, I won a national poetry prize for a poem about the Australian bush. Since then I've had four biographical works published, my first a study of the novelist Christina Stead, and more recently a book about 'greenies' called 'Green Power: Environmentalists who have changed the face of Australia'. My work has been published in Australia, England and India.
In addition to my own writing interests, as Director of Sydney School of Arts & Humanities I'm involved in publishing the work of emerging writers, and I also convene a series of meet up groups in creative fiction and non-fiction, including memoir. We're easy to find: www.ssoa.com.au/ I have a special interest in memoir, relationships and identity in life-writing, having researched the life of the Indian philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti, for a Doctorate of Creative Arts (DCA) from the University of Technology, Sydney. I also hold a Master of Arts (MA) from the University of Sydney.
My research work was acknowledged in my winning a NSW History Fellowship. I continue to publish short stories in the academic and capital city press.
I love writing, and I can't imagine not tapping out at least a few pages for enjoyment every day. I also encourage others to write the substance of their lives in the memoir and creative writing groups I organise in Sydney through Sydney School of Arts & Humanities & the Sydney Writers Circle Meetup.
At present I'm working on a novel set in India, along with editing several works of memoir and fiction published as ebooks and print books for sale on the Sydney School of Arts & Humanities website www.ssoa.com.au/ & on Amazon Books. I also convene 3 writing groups per week at The Rocks in Sydney - more information at http://ssoa.com.au/about-us/
